1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NextConvert ("the Service"), operated at nextconvert-frontend.vercel.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

NextConvert is an online media conversion platform that allows users to compress, convert, trim, merge, and otherwise process video, audio, and image files. The Service is available through a web browser and does not require installation.

3. Accounts and Registration

You may use the Service without creating an account (as an anonymous user) subject to free-tier limitations. To access additional features, higher usage limits, or paid plans, you must register an account through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

NextConvert offers the following tiers:

• Free — 50 conversion minutes per month, 500 MB max file size.
• Basic — 1,500 conversion minutes per month, 1.5 GB max file size.
• Standard — 2,000 conversion minutes per month, 2 GB max file size.
• Pro — 4,000 conversion minutes per month, 5 GB max file size, GPU-accelerated encoding.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Unused conversion minutes do not roll over.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload or process content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or harmful.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service without prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms.

6. User Content and Files

You retain all rights to the files you upload. We do not claim ownership of your content. All uploaded and output files are automatically deleted after 24 hours. We do not access, review, or share your files except as required to provide the Service (i.e., processing them through our conversion pipeline).

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and branding, is the property of NextConvert and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

8. Advertisements

Free-tier and anonymous users may see advertisements served by Google AdSense. Paid subscribers do not see ads. Ad display is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will meet your specific requirements. Use the Service at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NextConvert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Refund Policy

If you are unsatisfied with a paid subscription, you may contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, no refunds will be issued. Refund requests can be submitted via the contact information below.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
