Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 13, 2026

1. Introduction

NextConvert ("we", "us", "our") operates the web application at nextconvert-frontend.vercel.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you consent to the practices described below.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account through Clerk (our authentication provider), we receive your name, email address, and profile image. We store your user ID, subscription tier, and usage statistics (conversion minutes used).

2.2 Anonymous Users

If you use the Service without logging in, we assign a unique anonymous identifier stored in a cookie (__nc_anon). This cookie is HTTP-only, lasts 30 days, and is used solely to track your usage limits (conversion minutes and file size) so each device gets its own free-tier allowance. It does not contain any personally identifiable information.

2.3 Uploaded Files

Files you upload are stored temporarily on our servers (or in Amazon S3) for the purpose of processing your conversion job. All files are automatically and permanently deleted after 24 hours. We do not access, inspect, or share the content of your files.

2.4 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.

2.5 Automatically Collected Data

Like most web services, our servers log basic request information such as IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps. This data is used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging. We do not use this data to personally identify you.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service (file processing, account management).
  • To enforce usage limits and subscription tiers.
  • To process payments and manage billing.
  • To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
  • To improve the Service and fix issues.
